The 100G QSFP28 active optical cable is a Four-Channel, Pluggable, Parallel, Fiber-Optic QSFP+ AOC for 100 Gigabit Ethernet and Infiniband EDR usage. This AOC is a high performance module for short-range multi-lane data communication and interconnect usage. It integrates four data lanes in each direction with 100 Gbps bandwidth. Each lane can operate at 25.78125 Gbps up to 70 m using OM3 fiber or 100 m using OM4 fiber. These modules are designed to operate over multimode fiber systems using a nominal wavelength of 850nm. The electrical interface uses a 38 contact edge type connector. The optical interface uses an 12 fiber MTP (MPO) connector. This module incorporates Fiber Optic UK Technologies proven circuit and VCSEL technology to provide reliable long life, high performance, and consistent service.

It is compliant with the QSFP MSA and IEEE P802.3ba 40GBASE - SR4. Fiber Optic UK QSFP AOC is an assembly of 4 full - duplex lanes, where each lane is capable of transmitting data at rates up to 10Gb/s, providing an agg regated rate of 40Gb/s.

For typical usage, users can install this splitter Active Optical cable between an available QSFP port on their 40 Gbps rated switch and feed up to four upstream 10GbE - SFP+ enabled switches. Each QSFP - SFP+ splitter Active Optical cable descriptions a single QSFP connector (SFF - 8436) rated for 40Gb p s on one end and (4) SFP+ connectors (SFF - 8431), each rated for 10 - Gb/s, on the other.

It provides connectivity between devices using QSFP+ port on one end and 8x LC connectors on the other end. Fiber Optic UK currently offers these cables in lengths of 100 meters on OM3 MMF 40G QSFP+ less than 1.5W.
